One of my first patterns.

Abbreviations
cc - contrasting color. mc - main color ch - chain (s) dc - double crochet sc - single crochet hdc - halfdouble crochet, fl - front loop
sl st - slip stitch. st - stitch (es)rep - repeat. dec - decrease
rnd - round (s)
  • working as many times as indicated ( ) working as many times as specified
Gauge
Markers use to mark place. Back and front loops only
Attaching a new color work the last stitch to within one step of completion, hook new color and draw up a loop on hook, pull through new color.
Bodice
Ch 29
Roll 1. sc in second ch from hook, and in each ch across ch 1, turn. 28
Roll 2. sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn 28
Roll 3. 2 sc in each sc across Ch1 turn 56
Roll 4. Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. 56
Roll 5. sc in 8, skip 13, ch 4, sc in 14, skip 13, ch 4, sc in 8.
ch 1 turn 30 sc, 8 ch sp
Roll 6. Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. 38
Roll 7 . * sc in 2 sc, 2 sc in next, * repeat * * turn
Roll 8. dc in next sc and in each across. Ch 1 turn
. Lace ribbon through dc st
Roll 9. Sc in first dc and in each dc across across
This side should be right side. Join and ch 3
( ch 3 counts as first st through out )
Blue Empire
Rnd 1: dc in first st, * 2 dc in next, * repeat * *
Rnd 2: dc in the first st, 1 dc in each of the next 2,

Rnd 3: Dc in second dc in each dc around.

Rnd 9. Sc around finish off (work in ends )
